The Cotswolds

Good Morning lovely people,
This weekend Myself and my housemate Jenny took a little break from the student lifestyle and popped back to the Cotswolds to see my Mum and the cat. It was nice to have a reminder of what trees and fields look like, especially as the autumn colours have began to take a hold of the woods near my house.
On Saturday, we went for a wonder around the village and took advantage of the autumniness as a backdrop for some photos..

After spending the afternoon wandering round my favourite charity shops (I'll post pictures of what I bought soon), stuffing my face with cake and tea at a Cafe in Broadway and deafening my friends with my incessant talking, we headed home for some quality time with our onesies and the fire.

On Sunday, we went to visit my dad's Workshop. For those of you that don't know I spent my summer as an honorary Carpenter and helped my dad build a 9 flight staircase for a private Gallery in london. I took this photo of our coffees and I thought it looked all Arty, although when i showed the Tom he thought I gone mental showing him a photo of some mugs....

Later that afternoon, we continued on the theme of stuffing our faces and went for the most delicious sunday roast in all of the world, at a place called the Saxon Mill in Warwick.

Leeky Potato Soup

I was feeling pretty cold and sleepy when I got home from placement today and I decided that the best way to cheer me up on a wintery evening is some homemade leek and potato soup (or leeky potato as I call it).......

If on the off chance you feel like attempting this culinary masterpiece, you will need:
  • Some Leeks
  • Some Potatoes
  • 1 Onion
  • Garlic
  • Vegetable Stock
  • Creme Fraiche
  • Chives to garnish
  • Toasted Pitta Bread to serve

1. Chop everything and prepare the vegetable stock

 2. Sauté the vegetables in a table spoon of oil until slightly cooked

3. Add the vegetable stock and leave to simmer until the potatoes are cooked

4. Add some creme friache and season. Then Blend away....

5. Add some chopped chives to garnish and served with some toasted pitta

The perfect winter warming soup <3

Sunday post

I'd like to say that I've been really productive today, working on my Nigella style baking skills, read copious amounts of journals for work and gone for a walk in the delightfully cold autumn air. However, in reality I'm sat in my boyfriends onesie, watching new girl, feeling sorry for myself because I may have drank a little too much last night. So here's some pictures of what I would have worn today....

(I'm really sorry about the rubbish in the background of this picture, the alley way behind our house is pretty gross)

Jamie O

(Firstly, apologies for the random ordering of posts)

For the Moth's Birthday I took her to Jamie Oliver's restaurant in Oxford, I can't lie it was mostly because I really want to go. The food was Delicious, definitely up there in the best meal I've ever had and I'm not just saying that because of my undying love for Jamie <3

We both had Grilled chicken with a delicious tomato sauce and a selection of equally delicious vegetables and polenta chips, I've never tried polenta before but I will definitely be having it again!
After stuffing myself silly there was nothing better than a pot of fresh mint tea, which came in an adorable metal teapot.

First Post :)

As a spontaneous decision me and Tom (the bf) decided to stay in a yurt for the weekend. We ended up in the most AMAZING yurt ever, on a self-sufficient eco farm in St Austell in Cornwall, run by two of the nicest hippies with excellent taste in cute furnishings. I wish we could have spent longer there, to explore and go to the sea.
